2019 year in review

19 of the Best for Brilliant Logic in 2019!

2019 has been another exciting and productive year for Brilliant Logic. Thanks to our wonderful clients, we’ve had the opportunity to dive into a varied portfolio of work. From brainstorming a National fundraising dinner for Syrian refugees, to coordinating a cheeky anniversary video for an otherwise serious law firm, the past 12 months has taken us on a thought-provoking tour of imagination and teamwork.

We’d like to thank the businesses, individuals and community organisations who’ve trusted us to tell their stories in 2019; whether it be through PR, social media, design, marketing or a new website. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and enjoyable holiday season. We look forward to continuing the journey with you all in 2020.

But before we do . . . Here’s Brilliant Logic’s top 19 of 2019.

  1. #Cook4Syria

Run by UNICEF Australia each year, #Cook4Syria is a global campaign that raises money for children affected by the Syrian refugee crisis through the country’s amazing cuisine. For six months, Brilliant Logic worked with UNICEF Australia to deliver press releases, design collateral and manage direct communications strategies that encouraged restaurants and individuals to #Cook4Syria.

  1. Hello Melbourne

After 30 years in NSW, Brilliant Logic expanded interstate by launching into Melbourne in early 2019. Our on-the-ground presence in Victoria quickly attracted locally-based businesses including Proviro Group, Interlease, Enterprise and AMG Group.

  1. Nikki Webster & Dance Moms Australia

Brilliant Logic has been working with former childhood star Nikki Webster for over a decade. In late-2019, we helped Nikki promote her new television project – Dance Moms Australia – via PR across all three major Australian commercial networks, as well as dozens of websites and radio including Daily Mail, Southern Cross Austereo and Mamma Mia.

  1. Video Funny

Tonkin Drysdale Partners (TDP) is one of the Central Coast’s most prestigious law firms and a valued client. To celebrate their 60th anniversary, Brilliant Logic helped TDP produce a clever video inspired by hit US comedy The Office that captured not only their achievements, but also personality.

  1. New Faces

With more work being generated and a not-negotiable commitment to always over-deliver for our clients, Brilliant Logic added three new faces to its team in 2019: Account Manager Amy Bartlett and two communications assistants: Tamaryn Hurly and Patrick Boddan.

  1. Ton of Coverage

We suspected Peninsula Villages had a terrific story after welcoming their ninth resident to the 100-club in 2019. Headed by National Nine News, a host of media combined longevity with levity to produce an entertaining series of yarns on one of Australia’s best aged care providers. We love working with locals to bring their stories to the national audience.

  1. Year of the Rebrand

Forget The Pig. For Brilliant Logic, 2019 was the Year of the Rebrand. We had no less than 15 clients turn to us for rebranding advice and work, keeping our graphic designers on their toes all year.

  1. Another level for Harbord Diggers

One of our biggest achievements in 2018 was helping Harbord Diggers launch its newly developed club on Sydney’s beautiful Northern Beaches. This year, we continued to partner with the entertainment and lifestyle hub, helping Diggers tell the story of their Stage Two openings which included a state of the art fitness centre, aquatic facilities and range of other health and wellbeing operations.

  1. Wedding Bells

As her happy clients would attest, our General Manager Katey Small doesn’t do things by halves. On top of celebrating a decade of service to Brilliant Logic, Katey tied the knot in August with her long-term partner Ben.

  1. Litter of Can Puns

Purr-fect. Litter-ally. Right Meow. How many cat puns can you think of in one year? BL’s social media gurus had little time for cat-napping as they put their minds to a snappy new digital campaign for one of our newest clients, pet litter supplier Proviro Group with their leading brand Catmate.

  1. Durri Community Days

Our Event Management arm went into full swing in November, organising back-to-back to Community Days on the NSW Mid-North Coast for Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service. Delicious food, entertainment, childrens’ rides and community stalls ensured the weekend was a fitting celebration of Durri’s 40th anniversary since incorporation.

  1. Web of work

Businesses continued to wisely invest in their websites. We either built or redesigned a total of 21 websites in 2019!

  1. Belle of a bub

The BL team didn’t only get some new faces, but it also got slightly bigger. Our beautiful graphic designer Belle Caldwell welcomed her third child in July, daughter Melody Jane.

  1. NAISDA mainstay

2019 was our fifth consecutive year working with NAISDA – Australia’s premier performance college for Indigenous Artists. Helping to organise their End-of-Year production Ngoenakap at stunning Sydney venue Carriageworks added to our long highlight reel with this wonderful organisation.

  1. Opening the door to fond memories

Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel came up with an Australia-first concept to decorate doors of selected rooms with life-sized photographs of the resident in their younger years. Brilliant Logic oversaw the production of a website video for this amazing idea, which has provided a terrific mood boost for residents in the hostel and assisted with the launch of their new website which we also designed and built!

  1. Milestones

On top of Katey’s 10-year celebration, our website builder Bruce McKinnon, Senior Designer Matt Ranzetta and Head of Strategy/Digital Alison Orren celebrated four years with Brilliant Logic in 2019. Our financial controller Kim Patterson will mark her 10th year in 2020.

  1. McHappy Days

Our Managing Director Louise has traversed the continent several times over, organising almost a dozen National Committee Meetings and facilitating workshops for one of our biggest clients, McDonald’s, throughout the year.

  1. Say Cheese

Did we mention we also do photoshoots for websites, social media, and just about any promotion? Our in-house designer and talent professional photographer Bobby was kept super busy with 17 photoshoots for corporate and not-for-profit clients in 2019.

  1. Social Mania

Not that we’re counting . . .  around 4,000 social media posts have been posted by Brilliant Logic on behalf of our clients this year. Yes, that’s at least 11 per day, every day!
